Learn all seven THETIS puzzle types
Fourteen practice puzzles, two from each family, each followed by an explanation of the reasoning and what to notice. The same module opens every THETIS session; working through it here counts for the test in this browser.
Practice complete
You have now seen all seven families and the kinds of change they contain. In the scored test you will not see whether an answer is right, and the puzzles adapt to your level.
The seven families
Mutable Matrices
Panels that transform from one to the next by a hidden law, which may change.
Drifting Strings
Rows of cells that evolve by a law acting on the whole row or on each cell and its neighbors.
The Oracle's Ledger
Verdicts on cards reveal a rule about shape, fill or count, and the rule may change.
Translations
One law of combination, shown on one material, applied to another.
Levers and Lamps
Lamps wired to each other; levers that hold a lamp and what follows from it.
Turnstiles
Marbles through gates that flip, stick or hide their rules.
Orbits
Tokens moving around a ring at steady speeds, with or without a meeting rule.
