The name
The hadal zone, named after Hades, is the deepest part of the ocean: the trenches below 6,000 metres, reaching almost 11,000 metres in the Mariana Trench. Few places on Earth have been seen by fewer people.
The criterion
IQ 205 or higher (SD 15), seven standard deviations above the mean. IQ 205 is rarer than one in 780 billion. That is more people than have ever lived (about 117 billion), so a score this high is a position on a test's own scale rather than a frequency counted in any population.
