Resquites High-Range Tests

High-IQ societies

Four societies, from the 99.9th percentile to the edge of measurement

The Resquites societies recognize reasoning at the far end of the scale. The Nereid Society begins at the 99.9th percentile; the Aphotic, Hadal and Exocosm Societies at six, seven and eight standard deviations. Every member qualifies on one of four original tests, and THETIS may be retaken until you do.

What membership gives you

  • Admission on evidence. Every member qualifies on an original, norm-referenced test, verified against the record on file.
  • A member number in your society, and a place on the public roll if you wish.
  • Lifetime membership, no dues. Your test's fee covers the review of your application.
  • First access to new Resquites tests, forms and research, by invitation.

Rarer than humanity itself. On the normal curve, one adult in a thousand reaches the Nereid criterion (some 8 million people today) and about one in a billion the Aphotic criterion (some eight people alive). The Hadal and Exocosm criteria are rarer than one in 780 billion and one in 1.6 quadrillion: more than all the roughly 117 billion people who have ever lived. Scores that high are positions on a test's own scale, not frequencies counted in a population. The societies say so openly; that honesty is what makes membership worth having.

Apply for membership

  1. Qualify on an accepted test

Take THETIS or RUFIT online for an instant certificate, or submit PROTEUS or QUADRAVA-FR for scoring.

  2. Send this form

With a THETIS or RUFIT certificate ID, your score is checked at once against the record. With PROTEUS or QUADRAVA-FR, give the score on your report.

  3. Receive your welcome

The author confirms your membership and member number by email, usually within 14 days.

Questions about the societies

Which tests are accepted for admission?

Four original tests: THETIS (online, adaptive), RUFIT (online, timed), PROTEUS and QUADRAVA-FR (both untimed, scored by the author). Scores from other tests are not accepted: every member qualifies on the same, verifiable instruments.

Can I retake a test to qualify?

THETIS, yes: it is adaptive and draws new puzzles every time, so you may take it as often as you like, and your best verified certificate counts. RUFIT, PROTEUS and QUADRAVA-FR allow one attempt each (PROTEUS Form B is a separate retest form).

Is there a membership fee?

There are no membership dues. The fee of the test you qualify with covers the review of your application: US$50 for RUFIT, the session fee for THETIS, and the US$30 scoring fee for PROTEUS or QUADRAVA-FR.

How is an application checked?

A THETIS or RUFIT certificate is checked automatically against the record on file, by its ID, your name and the score. PROTEUS and QUADRAVA-FR scores are checked against the author's score reports. Results flagged during a timed test (for example, leaving the test window) are reviewed before admission. The author confirms every membership by email, usually within 14 days.

Will my name be public?

Only if you choose. The roll lists members who ask to be listed, with their country, qualifying test and date of admission; your email and score details are never shown.

Are IQs of 205 and 220 real?

They are positions on a test's own scale. On the normal curve, IQ 205 is rarer than one in 780 billion and IQ 220 rarer than one in 1.6 quadrillion, more than all the people who have ever lived. No test can verify such rarity against a population, so these two societies recognize the highest positions the THETIS and PROTEUS scales can record, with their margins of error. We say so openly, because that honesty is what gives the societies their value.
